domino teorija statusas T sritis Politika apibrėžtis Didžiosios valstybės užsienio politikos koncepcija, numatanti griežtą jos įtakos zonoje esančių valstybių kontrolę, nes esą praradus vienos valstybės kontrolę, kyla grėsmė prarasti ir kitų (ypač tų, kurios ribojasi su pirmąja). Pasak teorijos, kurios nors priklausomos ar kontroliuojamos teritorijos praradimas ar juo labiau jos patekimas į konkuruojančios valstybės priklausomybę arba įtakos zoną gali reikšti, kad ir kitos greta esančios priklausomos šalys ar teritorijos gali pasekti jos pavyzdžiu, kol galiausiai visa valstybės turima įtakos zona pagal domino žaidimo logiką gali išsprūsti iš jos kontrolės. Domino teorija buvo pagrindinis argumentas JAV įsitraukti į Vietnamo karą siekiant užkirsti kelią komunizmui plisti Pietryčių Azijos regione. Sovietų Sąjunga griežtai prižiūrėjo jai pavaldžias Vidurio Europos valstybes, kad kurios vienos valstybės atskilimas nuo sovietinio bloko nesukeltų domino efekto. atitikmenys: angl. domino theory ryšiai: susijęs terminasdidžioji valstybė
